Leanne Wookey
– Design Team Manager
Upon graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University Leanne began freelancing, followed very shortly by a full time role working for a commercial Interior design company in Liverpool city centre. Working on a range of projects from small offices and Exhibition stands to designing the interiors for 5 Building schools for the future projects (BSF). As lead designer on one of school projects, she pitched and won the first phase of 3 sample schools that have gone on to be delivered and opened for use.
In 2008 Leannes sculpture for the European Capital Of Culture 2008 was published as part of the superlambbanana exhibition commissioned by Commercial property developer, Bruntwood.
After moving to Manchester I returned to freelancing, working for Nochintz and found my new creative home, becoming full time member shortly afterwards. 12 months later and I am the Design Team Manager, managing both the interior and graphic designers on all aspects of our project work.
Manchester is home. After my first visit to the city when I was 16 I was determined to live and work in this city.
The creative, passionate and somewhat crazy people of this city give it a buzz, a feeling that always leaves me wanting more. You'll never bored living in Manchester.
There is always a gig, a party, an event or festival to go to throughout the year. A place I am proud to call home even if I am a Liverpool girl.
Photography and Snow are two things I love
I take Millions of pictures everywhere I go, I am very snap-happy! I think it's the best way of capturing precious moments, no matter how trivial.
And Snow because is has a wonderful way of making everything it touches look beautiful.
My Favourite designer is Tracey Kendall a london designer whose bespoke wallpapers I have loved since I first saw her work hanging in the Geffrye Museum in 2004.
My partner Phil inspires me.
Everything happens for a reason! Is my favourite quote.
My favourite film is Dirty Dancing, because it makes me feel nostalgic.
You have to have a passion in life. So if you want something go get it and don't let anything stand in your way.
